C++ Programming for Financial Engineering

I've always been interested in how mathematics can be applied to finance. That is the reason I chose this subject ——Financial Mathematics——in my university. I have learned some many pricing models in my university's course. But my leader of internship said "you need to learn C++ or JAVA, because nobody will calculate it by pencil and paper". Now I can show it by programming. That is really interesting. I am so excited that I have gotten my original goal!

This course has been really helpful in terms of reviewing the basic C++ concepts and provides really good examples for implementations. Level 9 material broadened my knowledge on option pricing. I really enjoyed every minute of it.

My original goal for this course is to learn C++ for career advance. I studied C++ long time ago, and forgot all of them. This is a perfect course for me to
i) recall what I've learned before.
ii) correct what I've misunderstood before.
iii) use Visual Studio extensively for the first time.
iv) learn to write better comments.
v) for sure, learn to write better quality C++ code.
vi) structure the project better, organize the header/source files better.
vii) learn all essential knowledge from oop to gp and stl, boost.
The quality of this course is amazing. The course material is very excellent. It covers all the essential knowledge. The homework is key to this course. Through these exercises, I learned how to debug, how to ""get it work, get it right, get it optimized"". The forum is really helpful, many people discuss the topics, specific problems, common issues, homeworks. I learned a lot from these resources.

This course really teach me a lot. I would like to take part in programming long before and this course give me a push to finish my decision. This course give students knowledge about C++ from the beginning to the mostly advanced method such as MC and FDM, it is really a great course for beginner to take in.

This is my first time to learn an online course. I think the course is very good and meets my goal completely. It not only covers those most basic and also important features in C++ but also provides some insights about C++'s application in computational finance, which is very beneficial for me , who has little FE background knowledge, to pursue master degree in FE. And I think the forum is also very helpful. My TA always reply my problem quickly and the staff are always ready to solve my tech problem. I think it is a great online-learning experience!

This course is good but hard.

I definitely enjoy this course. It is amazing that it can cover the core topics of C++ programming with just 9 lectures. The homework exercises are well designed and each of them installs a key concept. The quizzes are challenging and fantastic, which motivate me to dig deeper to truly understand the language. I really appreciate the teaching approach taken by my TA, which does not involve a lot of hand-holding. My TA never gives out the answer right away. Instead, he motivates me to think and search independently. I benefit a lot from this approach. Overall it is a great learning experience.

This course fits my need for understanding basic C++ very well. The structure of course is clear, the quantity of quizzes and homework is suitable. TAs are very warm-hearted to help us with any problem we have.
