I think it covers a large content in C++ that is used in quantitative finance and it meets my original goal for taking this C++ course.
The course is nicely designed and tailored to financial engineering near the end, which is great. The course meets my goal of refreshing my C++ program skills.
This course is a very well-structured introductory course. I had basic programming knowledge in other languages but was new to C++, and I find this course very suitable for me. It teaches C and C++ specific features such as pointers, as well as general program design basics and OOP concepts. The lecture video, code examples and tutors on the forum are also helpful.
I really love this course! This course improves my programming skills in C++. The highlights of this course are the abundant and reasonable coding training, the patient and responsible TA.
I am fully satisfied with the course and the skills I developed. In the end, I confirm that learning by researching on the forum, asking etc. Is very effective.
This course really helps me so much on learning C++, and perfectly lives up to my expectation.
This course is very helpful, not only in the aspect of the language itself, but also its application in financial engineering. I really gain a lot from the course.
Great course! Meet my goals.
I like this course and I really appreciate the work of Prof. Duffy and my TA. The lessons are organized well that help me set up a solid foundation in C++ programming. Though some of the work is relatively rigorous, it is a good start for me to get into the financial engineering field.
It's been an intense but meaningful 16 -week learning process. The course starts from the basic knowledge for syntax in C/C++ and OOP, which is not that hard for me. And the contents gradually grow difficult. It's a great experience to build those points, lines, circle classes and the level 9 is quite challenging, where I spent a lot of time to figure things out. But the course as a whole is really something useful and it meets my goal of learning C++ and deal with real finance stuff.
It's pretty good
The course is really challenging but also really useful.
This course is well-designed and I fully enjoy it. It meets my goal of learning about C++ and its applications on quantitative finance.
This course has really rich content and has touched a lot of useful areas of C++ such as object-oriented programming, generic programming, and the use of the Boost library. Combining with many exercises, students are trained to become well acquainted with C++ programming.
This is a great course, it meets my original goal.
The C++ is very helpful. Actually it is a little harder than I thought since I am a beginner. But the course is arranged well so you can catch up with every topic and get a better understanding of c++.
The material is very useful. However, as a C++ course designing for poeple with no CS background, I think the course overall is pretty hard, but still manageable, especially with all the forums where you can find people asking exactly same question that you are comfused. Moreover, C++ itself is a harder programming language compared to Python or MATLAB.
Overall, I think this course is a must for people who want to study MFE in grad schools, and that is also why I rated it as a 5/5.
The overall quality is good, and it indeed covers most of the basic contents in C++
The quality of this course is good enough for completely rookies in the coding world. But I do want to emphasize the homework should be more friendly for readers. Sometimes, I just don't know what should I do for some exercises, especially when I was struggling for group exercises in level 9.
It gave me all the knowledge about C++. I think it's pretty helpful.
