I enrolled in the course for two reasons:
1. Become a programmer: I had some coding experience with Python and VBA. However, I wanted to become a better programmer and not merely a coder. This course has certainly helped me become a better programmer. Not only can I write efficiently designed programs but also I have become comfortable at understanding and debugging code. The course definitely introduces best coding practice. Last but not the least, I had heard great things about the TA support and I have had the pleasure to experience it myself. Along with being prompt at answering questions on the forum, my TA (Avi Palley) provided detailed feedback on the homework and guided me all the way to implement best programming practices.

2. Meet the programming requirements for MFE programs: I believe that this course is designed to prepare the students to handle grad school level programming.
My mentor recommended this course to me saying that it would be beneficial to take since I want to become a quant in the future. It's great that it's a 16-week online course and I can study in my own pace and ask questions on the forum. The tutors and the professor are patient to answer my questions and they helped me solve my problems with guiding questions, instead of just giving out the answers. When I submitted my homework, I always received detailed feedback which is useful for my next step. I'm glad that I finish this course and enhance my C++/C programming skills, and had some experience with the Boost library, and tried some financial applications in Level 9.
It is amazing, quick feedback and really nice quality.
I heard this course from a fellow student, who has taken Baruch MFE program and working in NY now. I take this course to learn how to use C++. My university doesn't provide a C++ course for me.
C++ is very useful and many people recommend this course to me.
My experience with the course is overall positive. I believe the curriculum and assignments are rigorous enough to ensure a good grasp of C++ and to encourage students to look beyond the lecture notes to understand various C++ concepts in depth. Daniel, Avi and WZhang have been very responsive to questions on the forum and our assignment submissions.
I loved the course, and the lectures were very informative. I learned a lot about the fundamentals of c++.

The reason I took the course was to develop a robust groundwork in c++ where I can grow and develop as a programmer. I wish to apply for financial engineering graduate programs, and felt this course could prepare me for that.
I found it through MFE forums. I wanted to learn C++ especially boost and how is it used in terms of Options pricing.
I found the course by the recommendation of Professor Dan in Baruch, and I'm taking this course for a better chance in MFE application. I felt quite satisfied with the course.
I enrolled this course in order to apply for MFE programs. During the course, the videos, forums, TA helped me a lot. I had to say that the experience is unique. And I received a lot!
It was an excellent experience, and I learned a lot from it! I heard about this course from former applicants. And I think holding C++ programming skills, especially in Financial Engineering, is necessary for my future path. I appreciate the experience in this course!
This course was hard-core but useful.
I found this course through online search, and I took it because I want to learn C++ and apply for Financial engineering master programs.
While the final project gave practical, hands on training with C++, I felt that the instruction part of the course was significantly lacking. Much of the learning process had to be done through trial and error or independent study, as the course lectures did not include enough material to fully solve the homework assignments and quizzes.
I am an undergraduate student who never codes in C++ before. It is a great course. Highly commend people who have a strong interest in programming but not start learning about C++. I took this course to get a better understanding of financial math and fulfill the requirement of applying for the MFE program. As the result, I learn a lot about inheritance and templates. Knowing how to use the standard template library and how to program with the boost library. It is a wonderful self-learning process and created a deep understanding of code.
The lectures and the homeworks are well-designed to get us learn about C++ coding. The professor is very knowledgeable and patient, and the TAs are very responsive to our questions.
This is a great course for me to learn C++ and how we can use programming for financial engineering field. Because I want to apply for a master program in financial engineering, and I was recommended to this course by some of the friends I have networked with to prepare myself better. Overall, this is a great experience and really learned a lot here!
I enjoyed taking the course to learn C++. The course was well structured - both the content and the learning mediums, i.e., the video lectures, quizzes and homework. The forums were also extremely helpful to understand the material as many people had the same questions I had.
My experience in the course is great. The homework is well-designed to ensure my full understanding of the features of CPP. Also, the reading materials together with the videos are both helpful resources.

I found this course by recommendation of my seniors. And I hope that taking this course can help me with my application of MFE programs.
I chose this course to gain more understanding of applying quantitative analytical skills to quant finance. My school tutor recommended me to take the course, and I'm very happy to complete the course.
Very practical course materials, good exercises and Level 9 is super helpful for anyone who are interested in C++ application in derivative pricing. TAs are responsible and helpful!
