Well structured course material! I recommend this course for students as well as practitioners.
Excellent assistance from Avi, Pavlovs and professor Duffy :) thank you all.
It was a great course! I realize I've learned practical knowledge and technique. Q&As by past delegates were really valuable for me to address homework. I'm deciding to take also an advanced course.
The course worth every dollar you paid for it. From basic C syntax to application in computing finance, it helps you learn the essential of C++. Moreover, Prof. Duffy and TA Mr. Palley have their great devotion into the course. They will thoroughly answer any question you may have in your learning. And their speed of replying makes you wonder if they are actually android working 24/7.
This course is incredibly beneficial for anyone looking to improve their C++ skills. While computational finance applications are developed at the end of the course, a majority of the material is focused on getting the student up to speed on the basics of C++. I think the course offered a tremendous balance between general C++ background and its applications to computational finance. The TAs, as well as Dr. Duffy, were truly impressive in their speed and clarity of responses. I also appreciated the way the TAs would provide helpful hints without explicitly giving the answer; it is a much more effectively way to learn. Overall, I highly recommend this course to anyone interested in C++, and especially those looking to get into computational finance.
The course is designed properly and I really learned a lot from this course. TA helps me a lot and gave me so many suggestions. In all, the course is really great!
I really like the courses because the course is difficult enough and there're lots of exercises which could provide many opportunities to learn C++ well.
The overall course material is very helpful. TA and support are so great. TAs are very nice and available for most of time and reply to questions very quick. The designed Quiz also helpful for us to review the coursework. Homework is also well-designed.
It is a pleasant experience. It is a huge gap between basic C++ and application in finance. And I did it. I think the heavy HW help me to build such solid background in C++. My TA, along with the online forum were extremely helpful.
The course can't be too useful. At the beginning I had expected it to be very hard to finish. After learning steps by steps, I found it easy to understand. The homework really helps me grasp the codes.

I am very grateful for Dr. Daniel Duffy and TA Avi Palley. They are not only knowledgeable and professional, but also very attentive and patient to students. Also I appreciate the forum very much, from which I learned many useful tips from other students, and I enjoy the discussion too.

I still think I have a lot progress to make, so I will keep reviewing the course and visiting the forum from time to time. Thank you all very much!
I must say that this course is my lifetime guide to the world of programming. Generally, it's a comprehensive, resourceful and rigorous course. It introduced me to the engrossing world of computational finance and it's so exciting to complete it and get a certificate with distinction. I enjoy listening to Dr. Duffy's lectures, exchanging ideas with hundreds of studious people on the forum and getting all-sided support from my TA, Avi. Anyway, I've learned quite a lot from this course and I will try my best to consolidate my programming skills in the future!
The course is very good designed. I have learnt a lot of things and would highly recommend my classmates who are studying in Financial Mathematics at the university of Dayton to take this course. Thank you so much to TA who help me during this course.
Very good course. It deepened my understanding on C++ and its implementation on quantitative finance. TA and support provided very helpful suggestions and comment, which let me know where I can improve.
Coming from an engineering/military/education background, I found this treatment of the C++ language to be a VERY STRONG baseline for anyone looking to become fluent in the C++ language as it was intended to be, and not simply as ""C plus libraries""
The detailed-oriented nature of the course is not for the light-hearted, and prepare to up your caffeine intake, but the pedagogy makes for a grand learning experience

The final chapter of financial applications is also not for the light-hearted. My background in partial differential equations as it pertains to discrete signals processing kept my head on a swivel, so if you aren't particularly strong at maths, be prepared to take the readings at a slower rate. All the material is pretty self explanatory once you successfully decompose it into it's primal, atomic components.

To the aspiring grad student, challenge yourself to master the concepts here and augment the material with sister projects/readings to make reinforce the material.

Furthermore, the support of the faculty and timeliness of response is amazing, period. There is something to be said about the involvement and attention those seeking help receive.
It's a very useful course. I started without much C/C++ experience and finished it successfully with the help of the lecture materials, TAs and especially friends on the forum. The course videos put everything so clear and the TAs are helping all the time. I'm sure it's a good course to gain knowledge about C programming and will eventually help you with MFE application and your future career.
The intensive schedule taught me good C++ programming skills. The various projects helped me become a better practitioner. The well-rounded program design that included C++ Language and Syntax as well as the Applications in Computational Finance widened my knowledge. In addition, the brilliant, diligent TA and forum members inspired and continue to inspire me in all aspects.
This certificate was a good experience. It forced me to learn C++ efficiently through hands-on exercises.

I would definitely recommend it to friends or colleagues.
In the process of study, I really a lot from this course. At first, I had no idea about C++. Through this course, I find computer science is really interesting. TA and other on the forum are really kind. They reply the question in details. I think this course is really rewarding for green hand.
I finished the course yesterday and I would definitely recommend it anyone, who would like to learn basics and more advanced topics of C++ programming.

The course is really worth the price and provides students with a lot of knowledge and skills. After the course participants are familiar with the theory, but above all practical applications of C++ syntax, procedural, object oriented and generic programming, and basics of STL and Boost libraries. What is more, on level 9, we worked with the programs for financial engineering, what enabled us to gain experience from some methods used in the industry.

C++ for Financial Engineering Online Course is so good, because of the forum, which is a mine of information, excellent exercises and meritorious materials from Datasim.

I talked with my friends, who study Computer Science at universities and they really praised the structure of the course and what I learned here. Obviously at the university students learn a wide range of subjects, but regarding only C++, they told that after the course I know as much as them after obtaining a bachelor’s degree.

If I had to describe the course with one word, it would be: EXCELLENT.

TA are professionalists, their help and support is very valuable. With commitment and their assistance it is impossible not to learn required material and in consequence pass the exam. We were continuously supported by them. They were answering very quickly and extensively.
Apalley is an excellent TA who helped me a lot on my coding issues. I highly recommend people to join the course.
I really enjoyed how everything went through and i believe that it gave me a really good understanding for the c++ material. And i would like to learn more on the c++11 certificate.
