The course is really helpful on getting an idea about what c++ skills are needed for financial engineering modeling
First, I think the course is good and has ""gold"" embedded.
Second, I think in level 1~8, maybe sometimes the requirement is not very clear. And in level9, from my own perspective, it's better to let us complete the MC, FDM, EXACT methods step by step rather than using professor's code.
It shows me a big picture of the C++ language and how it works with financial applications. I've also earned experience on finding solutions through forums and internet on my own.
The course is perfect in guiding a student through the path of learning proper C++. Starting from the basics of C, going on to the basics of C++, and then building upon itself with every module, reaching the level of C++ required to understand and implement financial applications.
The material includes videos, reading materials, sample code, excelent references, and a lot of homework, helping a student really understand the intricacies of C++.
Additionally, the Teaching Assistants are astonishingly fast and help students grasp the important concepts in order to become a better programmer.
Another amazing tool are the forums, where students, TAs, and proffessor Duffy all share their thoughts and help each other to improve their programming skills.
This course exceeded my expectations. The subjects and modules we're progressive and comprehensive. The TAs were responsive and consistent in their feedback. Best of all, there was no hand holding.

Thank you for teaching me this valuable skill.
This has been a pleasure journey! The course covers both the basis and applications that Financial Engineering students will encounter. TAs and the students in forum are very resourceful and patient. I feel more confident in coding.
It is a very challenging course but you will learn a lot from it.
The course is of high quality and useful especially the application in computational finance, at the same time, very friendly to beginner. I learnt a lot from this course and TA' help.
I think the course quality is very high. It definitely meets my goal.
Daniel is very good instructor. He can explain things vividly. This the first time I got to know and understand OOP ideas and I think it's really worthwhile.
This course was a lot better than I originally expected. I felt like I learned a lot from this course. The TAs were amazing they responded really quick and made sure to help me out along the way. The course was challenging but very doable with the lecture videos, notes and other materials provided. I would highly recommend this class to learn about C++ as I have never touched C++ to feel comfortable programming in it.
It was amazing to take this course. It guided me into the world of object oriented programming and make me better understand other coding languages such as python, java. I plan to take the advanced level of C++course and hope I can be even more amply rewarded.
Great course for C++ programming. The most impressive thing about the course is it is teaching you how to establish a rigorous, efficient and well-structured project. For applicants who have not majored in computer science (or related), it is highly-recommended to take this course!
I like the conceptual and theory part of the course. Programming isn't just giving instructions to the machine . It's very useful to understand how things work and the rationale for why certain mechanisms exist the way they do. Knowing these augments my abilities as a coding student, allowing to do stuff that I did not was possible before.
I think you have done a good job and I cannot think about any improvements now. So glad to learn with you in the past several months.
It is a challenging yet rewarding course. For Level 9, would appreciate more coding for MC and FDM to consolidate the understanding of the underlying method.
A compact, rigorous course that covered a wide range of relevant topics. Beginners like me get a lot of practice doing the problem sets. My TA, Avi, was extremely helpful and commented in great detail on all my homework submissions that really helped me improve. The forum was a huge support for me in completing the course and where to find great tips on how to implement more efficient and accurate codes. Overall, the course was a rewarding experience that I’m glad to be a part of and will recommend the course to anyone interested in learning programming.
TAs respond really fast and provide great feedback on homework so you can improve. Forums have plenty of info for most of the commonly occurring problems.
I like the course very much but there is one thing I think can be improved. The video can be more specific for the homework assignment. I feel that the video is so general that have no big help for the homework.

Fantastic course. Great TA!
Overall, a fantastic course. Professor Duffy goes into great detail to explain the concepts. I especially appreciate the thorough explanations of the actual code examples. Avi and Pavlos have also been very responsive to any questions I came up with, no matter how basic. The guidance has been great, and as a result, I've developed a robust coding capability.
