I used to say that I build programs for a trading desk on Wall Street. Or dumb it down further and say you work for a financial firm to help them make money. You can expand if the audience is genuinely interested.

I dont think GRE will be as an important a requirement as in years past due to Covid. Some programs may waive it permanently going forward.

Take the Quantnet c++ cert to raise your hard quantitative credential a bit. Apply to both.

JHU now does as well. I have to get a confirmation from the program before I add the mark.

I already contacted the Cornell program's director and should get a reply soon. I suspect most, if not all programs in the 2021 rankings are STEM designated. Many just put up the explicit info after I contacted them.
