IMHO... Nothing can beat going to the target schools' websites and doing thorough research... then contacting the current students and alumni for further insight... and if possible... contacting even some professors within the departments...

Can't you just google for everything via the browser address bar (Chrome) and the search box (Firefox/IE)? Do people actually go to Google.com to search?

Of course.. but you eventually land up at http://www.google.com/search?q=....... and thats google

True but it saves me one step of not starting every search by going to google.com first.
And we are talking about "searching" and not about websites we go for contents.
