Hi all,

Happy New Year!

Quant roles are attractive to me. Since I am not in the filed I would like to ask for some advice on my cases to a quant. Thank you for answering.

I hold BBA degree in QF, minor in Math.(yet my math grade is not so good), but off track after graduation. I am now working in an insurance company as data analyst, where is full of statistics. I hope to move to FE due to its quantitative nature and good pay. My target is stats arbitrage quant since it involves more data mining and statistics, according to me knowledge. Just wonder what kind of knowledge/ skills are demended for this role and how can I get there. I am considering MMF, but I also heard MMF could not make people there, so will MMF be helfulp or not? I am also interested in a research degree in statistics, which will save a lot of money. Will this be helpful to be stats arbitrage quant? (With research topics like time -series, econometrics or financial risk).

Also, I wonder about roles that do not require a lot of PDF but more forcus on financial economics and statistics.
