Admission requirement for MMF at Toronto / MQF at Waterloo

Hello everyone,

I have a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering (Nepal) and Masters of Chemical Engineering (thesis based) (Canada). I am planning to apply to MMF program in UofT and MQF program at Waterloo. I was wondering if anyone similar to my background has gotten admission into either of these programs. Most of the people I see in the threads do not have mechanical engineering background. My details:
Undergrad GPA: 3.53/4 (Typical courses studied in Mechanical Engineering)
Masters Grade: 92/100. Have a research paper published that includes data analysis of the experimental data .
Took a course "Statistical Research Methods (Grade: 96/100)"
NO GRE test.
Programming Skills: Python and R.

My preferred choice is Waterloo MQF as it is more theoretically based. I believe this might be useful if I want to pursue PHD in future.

It would be really great if anyone (preferably someone who is an alumni of these programs) could share their insights on what do they look for while selecting candidates for admission?

Keep in mind that the job market in Canada is extremely limited in quantitative roles compared to the US/UK. Toronto and Waterloo are two top programs in this space so it may be tough to get in.
Best of luck and let us know how it goes.
