For an aspiring MFE student that has a lot of experience with the NYC market(salaries, job numbers, competition, etc.) how can one compare it with the other markets primarily Chicago, Boston, and the West Coast?

If I do MFE at UofC or University of Illinois, will I basically be forced to et jobs in Chicago, and is it possible to ever break into the NYC market?

Thank you very much.

Im a 3.7+ GPA, (800q GRE) Math Major at a non-target public school with C++ proficiency, but no classes to show financial background. I Want to go to Baruch or NYU, but it seems out of my reach? Thanks so much.

You do the programs at UoC or wherever because it provides you with the training best suited your personal needs.
If you have an eye toward the NYC job market, there are plenty of good program in NYC that can do at least as good.

While "University of Chicago" and "jobs" are mentioned, I wonder if you have ever read this and this.
