Hi everyone,

I am a math and stat student from Canada graduating this year.

I got admissions from both Financial engineering master and computer science master.

One is at u of waterloo and another is from u of toronto.

My interest in quantitative finance is mostly about portfolio management or quantitative trading.

Waterloo has a very decent program but most of its courses works are focused on math. ( I have already taken numerous courses on probability and financial models in graduate levels )

However, in computer science, I can learn stuffs like topics in machine learning and databases in more details with some additional stat courses.

Both programs have internships ( waterloo has 4 months and toronto has 8 months).

Considering my interest in quantitative finance, I believe that going to waterloo will be a better choice but

when I think of the materials that I can learn, I am more to computer science master.

So, I want to shared everyone's opinion.

Any advices will be very helpful.

Thanks!

Sorry for the typo in the title. It's " Computer Science or Financial Engineering? "
