one of UCB's requirements is "familiarity with computers as a computational and management tool". What does it really mean ?

will any of the following courses cover this ?:

- Methods of Numerical Analysis

- Fundamental Algorithms (math department)

- Introductory Financial Mathematics

- Methods of Monte Carlo Simulation

Thanks,
Roni

The first and the fourth. The second also, but not so pertinent to MFE unless the focus is on financial algorithms rather than algorithms in general.

This is as non specific as it gets. It certainly gives them a lot of room for interpretion.
Computer is certainly just a tool. Would someone familiar with Excel qualify under this requirement? Excel can do computational and management tasks.
A vague statement calls for a precise answer. I say call ucb and demand a clarification.
