I just ran into a copy of a four figure table, and it reminded me of the good old high school days.

For reference, a four figure table is a book with mathematical tables for things like sin(x), log(x), probability distributions, etc.. It was mandatory in national exams (no calculators). We didn't have the luxury of using futuristic things like TI-"super-computer" 89 to find the value of cosec(36.56), etc..

Just wondering if any other countries out there used or still use four figure tables.

India recommends this for students till Senior Year.
I remember my trigonometry teacher insisting on using these to 'build intuition' than those 'easy calculators'.

It's called a log-book and costs about 15¢.
