Freshman undergrad with aspirations to break into quant

I am a freshman at a relatively unknown school in Boston with dreams of eventually breaking into quantitative finance. What are steps I should take now in order to increase my chances into getting in the best possible masters program for financial engineering or something related?

Step 1: sign up on Quantnet and post questions. Check
Step 2: read everything you can here from articles in the master reading list, by program directors, the AMA threads, discussions from other applicants. This step may take a few months to a year to really digest.

By the time you are ready to apply, you will be in a much better position than most applicants.
