Future Career Options for quants

Hi,

I am about to move to a quant role in India after having development experience of around 6+ years. The thing which perplexes me is the lack of options in quant career. Hence wanted to check with the experts is it really the case.

As far as I can tell, India isn't comparable with other financial centers in Asia like Japan, Singapore, Hongkong when it comes to opportunities in quant finance. There are quant shops in India for global firms but the positions there are mostly development, mid/back office type.
