Hi there,

I was recently accepted to NYU for the MS in Mathematics (not mathematical finance) and to Columbia University for the MS in Applied Mathematics. I already went to NYU for my undergraduate degree in computer science and currently work in the city full-time. I will be taking the program part-time and my goal is to get better at my job (I work in a non-quant finance strategy role) and prepare myself for shifts in the industry in case I ever need a more quantitative background in the future.

I'm having trouble deciding between programs. The two programs are listed here:

Columbia -
http://apam.columbia.edu/applied-mathematics#M.S.

NYU -
http://math.nyu.edu/degree/ms/ms_math.html

Anyone have an opinion on which I should choose to attend? Should the fact that I already attended NYU as an undergraduate have any bearing on my decision? I hear Courant's mathematics department is world class.

Thanks
