How to get a publication at an MFE program

I am currently a student at a top 5 FE program and planning to pursue a PhD after the program as I want to pursue either quant or academic research. I have some research experience, but that being said, no publications. Does anybody who has published research from an MSFE program have any advice on how to get a publication? I've had trouble as it seems like most faculty just look for PhD students.
