Including Medical events in application

Hi all,

I took calculus II some time ago, and was hospitalised a day before the examination, and did not do well at all for this module (got a B-, overall GPA is barely first class). Some applications like MIT’s MFin program allows me to state these kind of expected events. However, for those applications which do not have such options, should I include it in the SOP? Or would it come off as an excuse?
