Hi all. I'm a new member here, just happened to come across this forum while searching some info about quants.
Currently, I'm a freshman majoring in applied mathematics. I really have no idea what's my career gonna be. I'm interested in doing something about finance, although I don't have any knowledge in that area. There are some popular jobs that I found: quants, actuaries, financial engineer, etc. Can anyone tell me what are the differences between these jobs?
I heard that quants job is really stressful and hectic. Is that true? What do quants do on a daily basis? Please be specific. I've read some general description on the internet, but I still can't understand what a quant actually is.
Thanks in advance.
