As a sophomore in college--it's time to pick a degree--I've been recently toying with the idea. The salaries seem juicy but from what I see the amount of work rivals that of a highly technical degree. It seems highly competitive and uncertain--that's finance for you. This leads me to the question of whether it's worth going into the IT/CompSci route instead at this point. Advanced degrees in IT/CompSci seem to be in demand in Finance anyway with comparable salaries. What are your thoughts? Computer geeks are valued everywhere so perhaps this question is redundant. I guess I'm wondering what is the better career choice in your opinion.

To answer the inevitable "what I like to do" question: many things but math and programming are currently "tickling my fancy."
