I just finished my undergrad degree in Computer Science from a public university in the US last month with not the best GPA (3.0). I've decided I wanna pursue a masters degree in a couple years and I've recently been looking into finance as a potential career option. I was thinking more along the fintech lines until I came across quant as a career opportunity and I think it could be a good fit for me. I'm very good at math and am genuinely interested in the technical side of the finance industry, the only problem is that because of my 3.0 undergrad GPA, I don't think I will be able to attend a top school for MFE. Before my masters application I plan on getting a great score on the GRE and getting some work experience to compensate for my undergrad GPA.
Is quant trading still a viable option for me? I will not commit to an MFE program if it isn't. Are there any other career opportunities I could look into that are finance tech related? Doesn't even have to pay as much as quant does, I'm just looking for something to go all in on rn after feeling a bit lost in my life and I need something I could realistically dedicate the next few years of my life to, and the first step of that is choosing a masters program I would genuinely be interested in and that would open career opportunities for me.
