I just recently found out that San Diego State university offers a Master's degree in Dynamical Systems. You basically take a full of Chaos Theory, 1 semester of Ode and 1 semester of PDE's, 1 semester of Mathematical Modeling, and elective courses. It sounds like a really interesting degree and something I'm thinking of pursuing. My ultimate goal is to work for a trading firm, a hedge fund, etc but not sure on what position yet. I've read several other forums about choosing a major but seemingly there is no one specific major, instead you can major in anything dealing with math, physics, statistics, computer science, or financial related. Currently I'm pursuing a B.S in Math but it is at a State school. I'd like advice on how to better my odds at getting a job in the financial industry? What Universities I should look into? What I preferably should pursue for my masters?
