Masters in Statistics

I'm planning on applying to a graduate program in statistics. I'm going to focus my course of studies in time series analysis, Econometrics and financial statistics. There is obviously much more to the application to an MFE program in the future but i wanted to know if this is an Excellent step for a future study in financial engineering.

This is a very viable route. But getting your foot in the door will be harder.
