I am doing some research and need to answer two basic questions for the years 2015 and 2016
1. what is the proportion by volume of all trades in US equity markets executed via algorithm
a statistic for "low touch" trading will do as well
2. what percentage of market funds / hedge funds / institutions are participating in algo trading / HFT
does anyone know where I could find data for these for the years 2015 and 2016? Links would be very much appreciated.
