Recommendation from current students

I am applying for MFE program for the 2011 batch. I was wondering if it is advisable to ask current MFE students for recommendations. There are some of my colleagues who are pursuing MFE currently, should I ask them for recommendation ?

Nope. Letters from friends, family, colleagues are not encouraged.
Anyone with a bachelor degree should be able to find at least 3 professors who can write them a letter.

Thanks Andy, I have 3 recommendations from professors. Just was wondering if i can add another recommendation from a current student to strengthen my application.

I was thinking more like an alumni or current student at an university might add more value to the recommendation. Thanks for your help, Andy
