Senior Developer (Quantitative Trading)

The Senior Developer for the Quantitative Trading Platform works with the development team in the support of our Equity Quantitative Trading Product. This experienced individual has a proven track record of working in a world class financial services organization.

We are looking for an outstanding candidate to work in a agile, highly professional team that collaborates with Quantitative Engineers, Quality Assurance professionals, and Business Analytics in the delivery of high-availability zero-latency technology supporting client-facing trading algorithms. This person is will be responsible for software delivery, reporting to the Tech Manager and partnering with QA and the functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Creates an excellent working and client relationship with quantitative engineers and the Quantitative Lead.
  • Key accountabilities include software design, component architecture, software testing, and software delivery.
  • Responsible for iteration planning, scrum meeting, burn down analysis, and software release scheduling.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement of product quality and technology.
Qualifications/Skills

  • The ideal candidate has had 6+ years of experience working in development teams associated with an Equity Quantitative product in a global financial services company or vendor.
  • In-depth experience and knowledge of Equity products and instruments including; electronic trading capabilities, algorithmic trading, direct market access, dark pools, crossing network and smart order routing.
  • Expertise in the development of VWAP, TWAP, Participation of Volume, and Implementation Shortfall.
  • Expertise in software delivery processes - Agile, RAD, etc., Strong multi-threading development experience.
  • Understanding of product development life cycle and iterative development methods with a commitment to quality and excellence
  • Proficiency with computer technologies - C++, Java, .NET, Linux, Oracle, OO Design, Design Patterns.
  • Evidential experience designing high availability, 24x7 trading environments.
  • Exceptional execution skills.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels. Excellent listening, written, analytical, strategic and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage numerous and changing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated skills to work in a collaborative, team oriented style.
