I'm heading to Marshall School of Business for my Masters in Finance, aiming to break into M&A or advisory consulting. I currently have almost 2 years of experience in core accounting at a leading IT firms in India. My company is offering a sabbatical, which would guarantee my current job upon my return.
Here's my dilemma: I'm worried about the US job market uncertainty for finance students. If I take the sabbatical, will I need to disclose this to potential summer internship companies in the US? Could this hurt my chances of getting a pre-placement offer? The sabbatical offers job security back home, but I don't want it to jeopardize my US career goals. Any thoughts or similar experiences?
