Significance of title in quant industry

Some firms have QR jobs that they internally title as Data Scientist, for historical or whatever reasons. Would having such a job put you at a disadvantage at first glance on resume screen for QR/QT roles? Would recruiters even read the role bullets at that point? Would an MLE title be regarded more highly despite being a largely engineering position?
