Hi folks,

I am currently a software engineer at FAANG and I am looking for a possible transition to a quant dev role or quant.
I have currently applied to Columbia Applied Math, Columbia MAFN, Baruch MFE, and NYU Tandon MFE and have not been able to
secure a single admission.
I have around 3.7 GPA overall and a 3.9 GPA for Computer Science courses, but I have not taken the GRE yet. Additionally, my managers and former professors
have written very strong letter of recommendations.
Do folks usually have pure math backgrounds before going to quant? It seems that math is the most important skill for quant with programming
being nice to have rather than the other way around. I have only completed Calculus I, Calculus II, and Linear Algebra and Applied Statistics in college, so I lack Calculus III and Differential Equations.
If anyone has any advice on getting into a MFE or quant program, I'd love to hear!
