I did only,

• Download for Visual C++ Express Web installer: http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudio/en-us/products/2010-editions/visual-cpp-express

Installed already. Do I still need the following

• Download for ISO image with complete Visual Studio Express: http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudio/en-us/products/2010-editions/express-iso

for the course?

I work with VC express on Video 1.1, it seems OK.

But when would be the case "ISO image with complete Visual Studio Express " needed?

ISO is when you download the whole program and install it from your computer.
Web installer is when you download a small installer which will download and install the rest of VS2010 via an internet connection. It's easier option since not many people know how to mount an ISO image.

I actually downloaded a VC2010 express version from here
http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudio/en-us/products/2010-editions/express

It probably doesn't have all the function.

But will that be reliable enough to work with all levels in the course?

I have found myself a window OS, on a very old and slow laptop. Is this Okay?
There certain reasons that I don't want to parallel my Mac at the moment, maybe do that later at convience.

As long as your laptop meets the requirement to install VS2010, that's all you need.

Should be OK, but be aware that you might come across bugs, which might cost time.

You will need new ExcelImports.cpp commands.

I think this is wrong version of Windows OS.

AFAIK

1) upgrade XP to 7

Or

2) VS2010
