I am going to be applying to mqf/mmf next year and am considering MMF at Toronto.
1) I called them up and they said they base gpa for admission on last 2 years. Is that true? I have a hard time believing that as I a lot of good programs I have asked they said they look at cumulative. This would be good news for me because My 2nd,3rd,4th year is roughly 3.9 but 1st year was horrendously low. My other aspects of admission is that I have already interned as a quant before so that shouldnt be too bad.
2) Reviews of the program are very mixed, there are few that are very negative but some positive. Also I want to point out I would want to avoid RM. I have heard almost all mmf graduates only get RM (risk management). How true is that? I would appreciate if people in the program currently or recent graduates could shed some light on this as well.
