What is desk quant researcher at a BB salary progression look like?

If you enter a job as a fresh graduate making 120k base in NYC, what's the salary progression like? Is it cost of living adjustments for the first couple years, and then a jump if you get promoted? What range are people at after about 5 years (sell side desk, quant researcher)
 
most ppl peak at vp level in 3-5 years earning 200k to 400k and make no meaningful compensation/career progression afterwards
