This occurred a day or two ago in Santiago, Chile: one dog rescuing another wounded dog in the middle of a busy highway. This has absolutely nothing to do with quant finance. It has restored my faith in human, er, sorry, canine nature. Humans are beyond redemption.

My opinion, and tongue-in-cheek. Take a million people at random and you will find half a dozen decent people: use them as counterexamples to the proposition: All humans are beyond redemption. But I rather wanted to focus on the dog: truly remarkable. This incident is indelibly etched in my memory. I saw it on BBC earlier today and looked for some online video coverage.

You never come across million people in your life time that would be of concern to you.
Albeit, by carefully choosing the sample space(which one does in real life) several counter examples could be provided.

But I rather wanted to focus on the dog: truly remarkable.

If that is the case and it was me, I would refrain from making such a generalized statement for Humans.

Incidentally, I'm reminded of a dog in a story, of which the last part is:
