Hi,

I hope that someone in the community will possess useful information pertaining to the MS in Statistics program at Baruch. If anyone has completed the program or has knowledge of the course material, how rigorous is the level of Mathematics used in the course ? I find it kind of suspicious that the program has VERY minimal entry level math requirements. On the official program site it lists that students only require calculus 1 and 2 preliminary credits, which doesn't even touch multivariable calculus and linear algebra.

So my question is, who is this program really targeting as its audience and what opportunities would one walk away with such a program ?

The answers to any questions you may have questions about our graduate programs and the MS in Statistics will be provided at our monthly Information Sessions. The next one is Wednesday, November 6 at 6 pm. This event will also offer you an opportunity to meet one of our faculty and staff from the Graduate Career Management Center as well as staff in Graduate Admissions. The following link will provide you with a listing of our on-campus events: http://zicklin.baruch.cuny.edu/admissions/grad/events .

I am also attaching the latest up-to-date MS advisement sheet with all the new changes on it. I think this should be helpful to you.

I am also providing you with a link that leads you to a listing of the Admissions Requirements:https://zicklin.baruch.cuny.edu/admissions/grad

If you cannot attend an admissions session, you can chat with an admissions person live by going to http://zicklin.baruch.cuny.edu/admissions/grad/chat-with-graduate-admissions. To answer any specific admissions questions, contact Thomas Lo (thomas.lo@baruch.cuny.edu) in graduate admissions. For more information on the MS in statistics, go to:http://zicklin.baruch.cuny.edu/programs/graduate/ms/degrees/statistics.html

I hope this helps you.
