Hi all. I've received an admission from MSFM@UChicago for the fall term 2010. I am eager to know my perspective classmates. After careful search on Google Group I only found out one for students applied in 2009. So, can anybody kindly tell me is there a mail group for 2010 students? Or you guys get a better way to find information like renting/coursework/preparation for mathematics and so on...?

I am going to Chicago for Fall 2010. I am not sure if we can find such a group online yet considering that the student body just formed.

It seems there is some prep work especially in programming and Math to be done.

Has anyone gotten any feedback from anyone at U of C as to when we might learn out application result? It appears to have been in the first week of March last year (2010). Also, how are you notified?

Last year one of my friends received admissions from early Feb to late Feb....I was curious why I haven't heard of anything from it yet....

Last year all admission result felt within the same time frame.

I just called the msfm program, and I was told that the result would come out in the middle to the end of March.

I got an e-mail as well. JHU also gave me an offer today. I actually resisted the urge to ask the Chicago program admins in person regarding decisions today.

This will probably help http://www.quantnet.com/master-reading-list-for-quants/ . Does this mean that U Chicago doesn't require you to have at least decent programming ability to get admitted??

Does Chicago have a refresher program??

They have a refresher course only in math (it's divided into calc and linear algebra). I suppose they don't require decent programming skills, although I have 4.5 years of very relevant experience, so maybe that helped my application.

According to the tracker, several people have received acceptance emails from Uchicago MSMF. What does this mean for those who didn't get emails? Did anyone get rejection emails?

As I know, a few of people got rejection emails, but I still got nothing.

I'm guessing these are people you know personally? Because only acceptances have shown up on the tracker...Anyway, guess we just have to keep waiting. I hope they send another wave of acceptances soon.

Also, noticed a lot of the acceptances are from mainland China/Singapore. If you guys care to share, did you get acceptances into the program in Chicago? or Singapore?
