Any updates folks? How was the interview experience? Any recent interview calls?

My interview was great. It was with Mr. Richard Bryant. I was asked where else I applied, about my internship, and about a Financial Markets Program at my school. Total time for that was about 10-15 minutes. The rest of the time I was asking questions. My understanding is that they interviewed a lot of students 30-40+ I'd say... Good Luck to all of us!!!

Hi, could anyone here give me some advice about the structure of essay B? It ask you to describe your background and preparation in the four concentration areas of the MSCF program – finance, computer science, math and statistics.

I have two methods to describe my experience but due to the restriction of number of words, I can choose only one:

1 I have 4 projects synthesized 3 concentrations (Stat, CS, Finance) and they have relations: I built models to predict the market and through these 4 projects, I gained experiences and improved the model. I am going to write along this line, describe the experience and talk about the growth of my understanding and what I have learnt related to the predictive models.

2 Ignore the relation between these 4 projects. Describe every projects and be more specific about my experience and what technical skills I have learnt like using Matlab do data cleaning.

Which is better? Is there any ways to improve one of these methods or combine them under the words limit?

I applied for the 1st round too.. and I got a mail related to my application documents yesterday(not interview invitation), and it seems like they are still reviewing applications of 1st round applicants.

I just received it today, and it seems that the interview will take up to 45 minutes. Not sure what will be asked. Any past interview questions to share?

@tonylxy : as per the dates mentioned in your tracker, seems you submitted your application in 2nd deadline..So it is a bit surprising that you got invite before the first round applicants and that too before the 2nd deadline date..

I believe I applied for the 1st round. I received an email in November from CMU that they decided to give me a extended deadline, and I applied right on that extended deadline.
