Hello! Does everyone has impression that columbia does not look at your programming skill, but you gre and tofle scores? I just do not understand why columbia such a great university, instead of the most important point, focuses on english scores?

All MFE programs do (and should) rank your ability to communicate in English proficiently above all other skills. Since these programs are extremely competitive, nearly all applicants are really smart. Seeing as the #1 metric on "how good an MFE program is" is placement rates, it's critically important that you can land a job.

Checkout this awesome table of facts I just invented:
QUANT SKILLSCOMMUNICATION SCORE% CHANCE OF EMPLOYMENT
10/106/10~60%
6/1010/10~80%

What gives you that impression? Is columbia still sending out admits nowadays? Got interviewed on 2nd Feb and they've gone dark since then.

Which of these facts do you not agree with?

I can't tell you why they have gone dark, I don't know the Columbia program.

I feel this is why even though with a 3.4 gpa and a decent gre I have been able to be competitive for programs that I never thought I could be accepted to. I'm able to communicate well and have been urging to others that this is the most important skill to get into top institutions.

Same here. Received interview on Feb 2nd and then nothing ever since.
