do you invest and what's your opinon on betting on betting on ackman, icahn, einhorn, etc stocks?

There's IEP, Pershing, Greenlight, Berkshire, etc that we can invest in. They're managed by top investors. They don't seem to be very popular. Could someone explain why? thank you
