GRE advice needed

After reading several posts regarding scores, I would like advice to see whether or not I should retake the GRE. I am a recent college grad having no relevant working experience with an economics degree (3.76 gpa). Having scored a 780Q/440V, I realize the math score is still in the ballpark while the verbal is below average so I am not sure if my score is good enough in both areas given my background. Should I retake the GRE to aim for at least a 790Q and raise my verbal score to the 500-600 range?

I would say yes. You have a call option right there. If the scores go up, exercise it. If it is at/below your strike prices (780/440) then you don't get to exercise it; you only lose the the cost of the option (GRE fee).

You definitely need to retake the GRE. While 780 is high, there is still room for perfection. The verbal part definitely needs an improvement. :)

If you took enough math classes and got A's or thereabout, no need to retake the GRE, unless you want to. Good luck!
