Hi! I recently got into a top program and will start this fall. I am a Math undergrad with some coding experience but not a lot. I plan on coding everyday this summer after I graduate to prepare myself. What language should I learn to make sure I am ready for the coursework as well as the interview process: Python or C++?
I will be begin my Master's this fall. What programming language should I learn to best prepare myself?

- C++ required if you are targeting devs role and it is better to learn than not. Open to non-quant role as well
- R is also important for statistic modeling and is not a dead language, can be learned during coursework.
- SAS can be learned later on during free time since many banks still have it for everyday use.

Given I have about 2.5 months to prepare, should I focus on Python? Or should I do both Python and C++ at the same time? Should I take QuantNet's C++ course?

I'd say take both C++ courses and get comfortable with the concepts. Then whatever you need to do in python will be a breeze. Quantnet's python course is solid as well!
