Is there still time for me to pursue Financial Engineering?

I am currently a Finance major at the University of Central Florida and still in my sophomore year. I am liking what Financial Engineering has to offer and I was wondering what I need in order to pursue this career and if there is still time. I don't have any experience coding or anything like that, and the maximum amount I have done is take Calculus I and II. I know I still need to do other things such as statistics and other types of math. Would it be a good idea to pursue a double major in Mathematics? Engineering? Get a minor in one of these? Please give me some suggestions, I would appreciate it.

Get a solid STEM degree and load up on math stats and programming course.

I see. So theoretically, a good plan would be to look for a STEM degree, whether it's a Math degree or Computer Science. Then make sure to understand C++ and possibly Python, then take some of these pre-MFE courses Baruch has to offer, and possibly look for an MFE program, for example. Would it still be wise to continue pursuing Finance? Or should I really focus on math and programming?
