I have been struggling to make a decision to go to work or CMU. After a while, I feel maybe work in Fed for a year would be beneficial to job hunting post-mscf. So probably one year will be just enough. However, I asked CMU and apparently it does not grant admission deferral. So I am planning to re-apply this year. which is kind of ...

But I really want to hear some opinions about this. Do you guys think 1 year working experience in Fed is worth of taking this risk of re-applying?

Future is indeterminate.

What do you really ‘want’ (and can ‘afford’) most given that you really can't know where the world will be 1-2 years from now:

Higher Risk, 'Potential' of Higher Return (or Bust)
or
Lower Risk, Moderate Return

Determine how much you are “willing” and “able” to loose to have the expected “potential” of upside return.

Then go for it. Once you are past this point, remember it would have been the best possible decision at this point of time, regardless of how future unfolds.

Best of luck! You 'will' need it either way.
