I have been working for the last 1.5 years as a software developer since graduating (master's in math). My plan is to apply for MFin and and MFE programs for 2014 Fall.
Is it true that some programs prefer at least 1 professional (work) reference? My current manager would give me a good reference for my programming and teamwork/communication skills.
My concern is revealing my future plans so soon (almost 1 year before I leave). Ideally I'd give them a few months notice after receiving the application results. What's the best way to go about this? Thanks.
