Valgrind + Mac

Can you install and run a program with Valgrind memcheck on Mac OS? From what I see, it seems to require Linux.

I see other options like address sanitizer; however, this doesn't work on Mac either. It just causes some VM errors that appear to be well-known on Macs.

brew install --HEAD valgrind

Seems official support stopped for macOS 10.13 (High Sierra). Is that crazy old?

How bad is it to install ubuntu or the like on the machine?

Ya, it's safe to say that I never plan on buying another Mac. It turns out it's a terrible machine for quant finance.

I tried brew install --HEAD valgrind and that failed as well. The error is:

valgrind: Linux is required for this software.
Error: valgrind: An unsatisfied requirement failed this build.

Def try and get ubuntu installed on that guy. Worth it!
