Which Department to Apply?

Hi guys, I'm an undergrad hoping to pursue mfe. Anyway I've read on the forums and suggestions by others that if there's anything you need to add to your resume, it would be a finance internship.

Just to let you guys know, I'm based in Singapore and I find it hard to look for a hedge fund here. Does anyone know of any which accepts interns?

So I thought of applying to multinational banks instead. As you might presume, most of these banks/investment houses don't allow undergrads to do quantitative work. In this sense, what department do you guys think would give me the closest exposure to mfe without having to do quantitative stuff? I'm an applied math major btw.

They say that it's easiest to get in to operations with my background but it doesn't seem to provide me with an exhaustive overview of financial markets.

Any advice/recommendations?
