Yahoo API, how to get gold price, opening and closing

Hi,

I'm 2 weeks into this, but with an extensive background in both programming and finance.

I can't find the ticker symbol for GOLD in USD on yahoo finance api.

What would be the command to get daily opening and closing since the longest possible period in a .csv?

Yahoo finance API is not available anymore. I have moved to MarketXLS after this change, much more reliable data.
