  • Most often it just sucks and I have to go over again. The fact is that, some members wrote me questions in inbox which I simply cannot open. I had no other option but to create a new account and I did which was blocked due to "duplicate account detected". Would you recommend anything??? BTW, my mail is tsotne1990@gmail.com (just in case I won't be able to view your wall again). Thanks
Hello Andy. After many days' efforts finally I got to your wall. I have the same problem I described several times and I'm sure the problem is with my profile. I have really very hard time navigating the website. Even after you post a reply here, I'm not sure how many hours or even days it will take to view it. Any button I click takes 7-8 minutes to complete the task...

Hello, Andy. I really need some professional advice from you. I am going to the college as undergrad next year and not sure which major best prepares me for being a quant? I know it requires tons of math and programming skills. I am just wondering if applied math+Computer science would be a good option? Thank you in advance.
    Hi Andy
I have got admits from Rutgers MQF program and NYU-Poly. Please suggest me which one do you find better?
I could not find the ranking of NYU-Poly. However it has better location. On the other hand, Rutgers has good ranking but is pretty expensive.
Please suggest me amongst these. Thanks

    hi andy,
i hav admits from CGU(MSFE) and IIT,Chicago(m.s Finance). can u suggest me for which univ i shud go for..im really confused.
Andy, I've been admitted to the NYU-Poly MSFE program. Heard that several former Poly students reapplied for several TOP MFE programs during their first year there, and some of them succeeded. What's your take on reapplying? Do I stand a chance if I finish the first semester courses in Poly? Any advices or suggestions?

Unless you get 4.0 GPA in the first semester and get glowing recommendations, the fact that you didn't get in TOP program the last time is always something on their mind. And not to mention you will waste time and money restudying most of the materials. Take this into account and plan a good path.
Hi Andy, could you please add USC MS Financial Engineering and USC MS Mathematical Finance to the tracker? Thank you!

Hi Andy, I am struggling between Cornell and CMU right now. My future plan (at least for now) is to work as a trader for 2 or 3 years after graduate from the program, and then apply a finance phd or go for some VC/PE job. I am looking for a program that can best fit in with my career plan. So do you have any advice for me? thanks!!!

Do you have any relevant finance work experience in the US? If not, it's close to impossible to become trader right off school. Best scenario would be to obtain a FO role on a trading desk and work your way up the ladder.

    i see...thanks for replying!
Could you please Include UZurich-ETH : MS in Quant Fin course as well under the Tracker.
Hi, Andy, just a notice or fresh information for quantnet tracker. Oklahoma State University has a Master of Quantitative Financial Economics including three tracks: Financial Engineering, CFA and FRM. Maybe you can add the program in the application tracker.
By the way, I spent 20 days in Vietnam last winter, especially in HCMC, Hanoi, Dalat, Nhatrang. I love those places!
